Problem

The airport needed to upgrade and replace parts of its older infrastructure. The project had to be carried out live without impact to the business or airport operations. All systems at the airport are mission critical and major disruptions would result if something went wrong.

Another challenge was that the new systems had to be tested prior to the migration to minimise the risk of failure.

Solution

We successfully implemented and upgraded a new VMware VSphere cluster and migrated 400 virtual machines live over a three-week period.

Many of the company’s systems had old, unsupported firmware, which meant there was a risk that they were vulnerable to outages and viruses. Another challenge was that the upgrade needed to be carried out across multiple stages because the project was so far behind.

We assessed all the systems to determine their current state, provided recommendations and implemented the solution.

We prepared the new location in advance of the move, then used multiple team members to move server, storage and networking infrastructure in a lift and shift operation.

Problem

Several of the company’s aged care facilities required wireless network facilities to enable nurses to communicate hands-free with other staff.

Solution

We designed and implemented a wireless network that allows calls to be routed based on the location of nurses in the facility. The new system also gives residents and guests access to WiFi services.
